Froling Tank Systems: Buffer & Hot Water Storage

Alongside Galu, Denergy also offers Froling’s own range of buffer and hot water tanks, designed to work seamlessly with Froling log, pellet, woodchip and combi boilers. Every biomass boiler benefits from a well-sized buffer tank, which stores surplus heat and lets the boiler run at its most efficient, steady output rather than switching on and off.

Why a Buffer Tank Matters

  • Allows the boiler to run fewer, longer, more efficient burn cycles
  • Stores heat for use later in the day, reducing wear from repeated start-ups
  • Essential for log boilers, and highly recommended for pellet and woodchip systems

Froling Tank Range

  • Layered Tank – a standard buffer tank that stores heat in layers by temperature, improving efficiency versus a single mixed volume.
  • Solar Layered Tank – a layered buffer tank with an additional coil, allowing it to also store heat from a solar thermal system.
  • H2 Hygienic Layered Tank – combines buffer storage with hygienic domestic hot water production in one vessel.
  • H3 Hygienic Solar Layered Tank – the same hygienic hot water design, with an added solar coil for renewable input.
  • Unicell NT-S Hot Water Tank – a dedicated domestic hot water cylinder for use alongside your buffer tank.
  • Modular Layered Tank / FW Modular Solar Layered Tank – a modular design that can be split into sections, making installation easier where space or access is limited.
  • Fresh Water Station (FWS) – produces instantaneous hot water on demand directly from your buffer tank, without the need for a separate cylinder.

Sizing and Installation

  • Tank capacity is calculated to match your boiler’s output and your property’s heat demand, so it’s sized individually for each project rather than off-the-shelf
  • Layered and hygienic tanks can be linked together in cascade for larger installations that need more storage volume than a single tank provides
  • Compact and modular options are available for properties with restricted plantroom space or difficult access
  • Our consultants carry out the sizing calculations as part of your system design, so the tank works efficiently with your chosen boiler from day one

Froling or Galu?

Galu buffer tanks remain a great option and are already featured on our Galu Buffer Tanks page. Froling’s own tanks are a good alternative where you want a single manufacturer for the whole system, or need one of the hygienic or solar-ready models above. Our consultants can help you choose the right tank for your project.
